VirginMedia Broadband PCGuard

I have recently installed this as part of my Broadband package from Virgin and it seems very good.
One problem though, the Virus detector protection keeps switching itself off leaving my PC unprotected.
Does anyone out there know how to fix this and is anyone else having the same problem?
Is it something that I should contact VirginMedia about?

Try reinstalling the software. It worked for me. Uninstall any other anti virus software you may have on their too. A recent updte on my machine for an internet add on kindly added a free Norton product which I didn't want - it screwed everything up!0

I have re-installed it twice already.
It then worked for a while then when I re-started the PC it was gone.
I guess I will just have to keep re-installing until it sticks.
Would you do a complete un-install every time first?0 -

I used to have pcguard when I was using XP and it was great.
But my old pc gave up the ghost and I had to buy a new one which came with Vista Home Premium. At the time, pcguard was not compatible with Vista so I had to use Norton (I had a six month trial with the pc package).
But now, pcguard works with Vista.
My Norton 360 expires in 30 days time. Should I ditch it and get the pcguard for free?

Even if you'd just bought Norton, I'd recommend ditching it, it's one of the worst examples of bloatware known to mankindbigbloke45 wrote: »My Norton 360 expires in 30 days time. Should I ditch it and get the pcguard for free?
Do the normal uninstall then run this which is from Symantec to get rid of the rest of the rubbish0 -
This PCGuard is still dodgy as the anti-virus works sometimes and not others.
Any advice?0 -
