Should I capp or should I stay put?

Can i have thoughts on whether you guys think capping is the right thing to do now. By switching to dual fuel and different tariff with british gas the comparision sites say I can save 18% and capping with scottish power for a year -2%. I am just not sure what is the best thing to do

If the news, the papers, the energy advise forums, The energy companies and our main man martin lewis, who was on the tonight program on tuesday night and was telling people to capp capp capp is anything to go by, i would go for a capped/fixed price tariff (try and get one with out a cancelation fee) - i dont think theres any doubt on the prices are going to increase.

I'm with EON and I too had a letter offering to cap my prices until Oct 2009
(current tariff EON Energy Online 5)

Should I go for the cap on my prices or is this a ploy for EON to charge me more?
