help needed for family of 14 !

hi
am looking for help...my hubby and i have decided to give up our holiday abroad this year and holiday in the uk with the family ...kids are all grown up now...but this year we thought it would be nice to holiday together with the kids and grandkids.....my party consists of ...
me and hubby
son aged 24
daughter aged 26 and her young daughter of 6
daughter n son in law and their 2... aged 4 and 2
daughter n son in law
daughter, son in law and their two aged 3 and 1
as we have decided to pay for the accomodation (so the kids n grandkids get a break away))we obviously dont want somewhere that is going to break the bank....
i have looked at butlins, pontins, flamingo land...i cant seem to get a decent price or am i doing it wrong !
somewhere round yorkshire would be ideal..half the family live in the london area the other half in scotland so somewhere half way would be good !
if we caqnt get a weeks holiday then a frid to mon break would even do, we have about £700....not a big budget i know but this isnt counting spends...we are hoping the family will have their own :rotfl:
so please...any suggestions would be most gratefully received !
they dont mind sharing with each other either !
thankyou:o

Hi, have you tried welcome cottages? they have all sizes of accommodation availible around the country, i have just checked and there are several places that would house all of you in september for £700,
    hope that helps xx

    Hi lochnessbeastie,

Go back to the Pontins site - you can definitely do a week in Pontins Southport for under £700 in budget accomodation for all of you ! 3 apartments.

    Hope that helps

Or if you can risk going last minute it will be even cheaper, we got a budget apartment last year for £95 for 3 nights for 5 of us, so if they have 2-3 more left, then you have got it for under £400

What about trying youth hostel association.

they are supposedly very good these days and have en suites, breakfasts family orientated youth hostels etc.
  • just phoned pontins and was quoted £1470 for a weekend break...apparently the cheapest deal she could do...we had a bit of a laugh too when she told me she had just done a booking for a family of 5..and the hubby had missed out one of the children.......aherm....so did i....there are 15 of us....i just cant count..lol...either that or its stress !!!! ten adults and 5 kids...
ty for the replies i will check everything out after work

    Hi lochnessbeastie,

Can I ask which Pontins that quote was for? as you can definately do a 3 apartment budget accomodation break in September at Southport for 15 people !! - 3 apartments for under £700. I am going to Camber Sands at beginning of September for 4 days - there are 5 of us going and it is only costing £180 ! so no reason why 15 people should cost £1470!!

Maybe your quote was for the half board site at Blackpool? I am talking about Self catering.

Had you thought about camping? If this is a bit much, lots of camping / caravanning sites have caravans you can rent for a week.

Have you checked with your children that they would enjoy it as well as you? Just a thought because to me it sounds like hell! Apologies if this has all been discussed wirthin the family.
