Hey up sorry to change tac slightly on to Car Tax rises. I understand that they will come into force from Apr next year which is cool but I am hearing more and more that people who are renewing their car tax are getting charged the new rates now. Is this because a 12 month license transcends the new tax year i.e. after Apr 09 and therefore they must pay the new rate? If so Im gonna tax my 2 cars at the 6 month rate and the new rate in Feb/Mar 09. Is this right, am I doing the right thing?

    Afternoon,

Not a clue Len, but I'm pretty sure you're gonna pay more from April whichever way you do things

Lenny - there's a good car tax calculator HERE - you find your make and model, and it tells you how much for 6 months, and how much for 12 months, for this year, next year and 2010 I think.

I'm not sure if I'm going or not - I'd like to, and obviously it's really local for me, but it probably my busiest weekend of the year, so I think I will just decide at the last minute.
