Car Hire in Mallorca?? best one....

We're off to Mallorca for the 4th year and really want to get about on our own this year, as we've done the 'sightseeing tours'. In the past we have had free car hire for a couple of days with our holiday, but this year we need to book our own.
Has anyone got any advice for a cheap deal? We're staying near Cala Millor.
Any help would be approeciated, thanks

we've used www.email-car-hire.com when the booking came through their agent is recordrentacar just cheaper than going direct. record seem to be fairly well regarded there

I've booked our car with carjet (www.carjet.com) for our holiday in Majorca in a couple of weeks. They were the cheapest by far and i shopped round a hell of a lot. xxx

I've used Avis before but that was part of a package deal booked thru Cosmos. They had a proper desk at the airport and their cars were located on the ground floor of the car park (something to consider if you have lots of luggage). We went last year and used a different car hire company (I forget their name) but their reps didn't have a desk at the airport and just used the seating areas to complete the paperwork, it was complete chaos with no sort of queues. We then had to take our luggage across to the car park, up lifts and to the far side to find our car. The car was fine but the child seat was poor quality.

Anyway, you won't be disappointed if you hire a car. The scenery is stunning and there are lots of places to explore. If you are confident and don't mind lots of twisting roads, head to the mountains in the north of the island - stunning!

Just used the same and everything was fine. We got the car from Record, but CHEAPER.........

Ive been to Cala Bona about 20 times now as well as Cala Millor. Its the first time for my OH so i want to hire a car and show him the scenery rather than wait for the good old "trusty" son severa bus services.

Ill follow this thread and check the suggestions.

My plan was to just wait and see what was available when i got there as i didnt want to book incase neither of us felt like driving or this year they had good trips on etc, didnt want to be tied to a booking.

I was going to grab a few brochures of the hire cars in the airport once i landed and if there was nothing in resort, just go with one of those but i expect the hotel will be able to arrange things with a reputable company. I'd feel safer doing it that way than through an internet broker but thats just me.

We're staying in the Hotel Cala Bona at the end of Sept. 10 weeks/73 days.woo :j :j
