New Job and new current account

Options
Well I have recently resigned from my current job but still have another month left to work. I would like to switch from my hsbc current account to the A&L premier direct account - the question is should I wait until I start my new job before applying for the new account, or does it make no difference (it would be nice to just give the new account to my new employers rather than changing after a few weeks)? I went to the online application page before and it said you should have your current employers details at hand to complete the applicaiton - does it matter if those details are about to change?

cheers
Dave.

Probably better to open the new a/c before you change employers - you'll be able to put a better answer to 'length of time in current employment' question as well.
