Hi,
I'm currently on Virgin Media but switching to O2.. O2 have asked for a mac code, but not sure what to do as I have explained the Virgin Media does not use the line but instead is a cable connection.. They said that I would then need to provide the MAC Code for any previous broadband providor that used the line.
The last broadband I had through the line was AOL and it was 6/7 years ago so not sure how to get a MAC Code through them now?
Any advice?
Thanks

go here:
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php
put in your bt phone number and see if it says theres a service already on your line
if its clear then you don't need a mac code.
chances are when you switched to cable aol would have ceased the bb on the line0 -
Crap it says "there is another service on your phone line (e.g. ADSL, LLU, DACS, etc) that would prevent you from ordering a new ADSL connection."
I don't understand, it's been so many years since I had AOL!
What should I do now?

Call your phone provider and ask them to clear it.
(just call it MAC, MAC Code is saying "code code", like saying PIN Number, or HIV Virus, it's an example of redundant acronym syndrome
) "She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
