Scotland...places to visit?

Hi there,
please advise some very interesting places to visit in Scotland, preferably not too far from Edinburgh/Glasgow.
beautiful nature, mountains, lakes....
share some websites for more info please...cheers :beer:

    Stirling isn't far from Edinburgh and Glasgow and is worth a visit - easy to get to by train as well if you don't have a car.

    I think the castle in Stirling is as good as edinburgh but a lot quieter! Doune castle is also worth a visit. If you think you may visit a few of the historic scotland sites look at their annual membership as it soon pays for itself.

    My mother in law runs a B&B thats cheap/welcoming and serves EXCELLENT breakfasts if anyone is on their way up here.
