Phoning spanish mobile

Options
I have tried to telephone a spanish mobile from my home tel number using one of the money saving numbers- 0844(I am on a virgin package). I get through to cheap calls ok and they ask me to enter the overseas mobile number including the overseas code - 0034 in this case. However half way through entering the number the operator keeps telling me I have entered to many numbers and to try again. Anyone any idea why this should happen.
thanks

A Spanish cellphone number will start with a 6 and will be 9 digits long (13 digits in total with the international code) e.g. 0034607789123.

How many digits are you dialling?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Thats what is strange. I dial the 0844 566 7566 which tells me to enter the number required including the overseas code and then press hash. So I enter 0034 then the 9 digit cellphone number. But before I get to the end it interupts me and says i have entered too many numbers? tried another number 0871 754 3939 and had the same problem. Very strange obviously something simple, but I dont know what.

I can get through to any "simply dial providers" then the same thing happens to me when trying to phone Australia,0061. Any answers please. Has anybody been successful?

Do they want you to drop the 00?
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

No I tried droping the 00 and it interupted me to say I must enter the full overseas code. Glad I am not the only one having problems. Could it be something to do with the telephone memory having already stored the low cost number? probably stupid but just a thought.

For anyone who has had a similar problem and after a few efforts - speed of entering the numbers. You are entering 00?? then nine numbers and you cannot afford to leave any gaps in time between entering the numbers otherwise you get the message that "you have entered too many numbers".

Enter the numbers at a consistent speed with no gaps and no problem

Hadn't thought of that - the number of the one Spanish mobile I call is stored in my phone's memory - so uniform speed of 'dialling' is automatic.
