Norton 2004

I have windows '98 and a friend subscribed me to Norton for a couple of years, however, every time it tries to run the live updates, it won't do it, saying that my subscription has expired. Is this something that can be fixed and if not, should I uninstall it all as i have AVG and SPybot.

Thanks for any info.
Shanni

Hummm..."a friend subscribed me to Nortons for a couple of years".....not the patch which works for 4 years by any chance?

Possible problem could be that you have moved the date forward on the operating system and moved it back, if that is the case it will say its expired because it will know the date has been changed.

If it is a legal copy, contact their help line to get is re activated. If its not, unistall it and load on something like AVG instead

Well it worked fine for a year or so, it's only lately it's playing up. I've no idea re the legality of the copy. Thanks anyway.

    Does AVG scan emails?

Thanks both. I have got it installed already but it doesn't have a pop up tab like Norton when sending so I wondered.

WOuld you recommend I uninstall all Norton stuff?

Download the new version of AVG via the above link, then Uninstall Norton
and any previous versions of AVG then Install the new version of AVG.
