lost product key for Microsoft office Professional 2007

Hi

i bought the professional microsoft package for my new laptop in may but couldnt get microsoft to accept the product key i had received with my laptop to register the package. The package was still working fine so i continued to use it and forgot about the product key. This week i have been given notice that i can only use office 8 more times on my laptop as then it will be blocked. I'm gutted as i now cant find the cardboard holder that the disc came in and contained the product key code although i have the original disc. Is there anything i can do or anyone i can contact to help me with this problem as a student i really cant afford to buy a new package.

Thanks Ruth

I would imagine Microsoft are the only people who could help you out.

If you're a student then it's not that much for office anyway. I bought Office 2007 Ultimate for under £40. Unfortunately the offer isn't currently on (www.theultimatesteal.co.uk) but you can still get office from www.software4students.co.uk (Office Pro for £45.95).

If you want to discuss illegal topics I suggest you find another forum.

I apologise, and as I said I wouldn't recommend that sort of thing.

Hi, just read the above. Are you saying that you can buy the sort of software that is used at work - ie, excel, powerpoint, word and office outlook for just that small amount of money?

Just got a laptop and this software isnt installed but I'm really missing using it but didn't think I could afford to buy it - really thought the software cost hundreds.

As your a student go to your ISS office or equivalent, they should do copies of Office for £10-20.

As long as you qualify. The ultimate steal deal isn't running at the moment but you needed a .ac.uk email address at the very least. But you got a retail license which means I can use my copy after being a student as well, whereas getting it from the university direct is an academic license and so is only licensed while you're at uni. And as I said it's the ultimate edition (currently £530 on Amazon). Cost me less than £40. It has all the packages you mentioned and much more. The software4students sell the pro edition which contains most of the stuff but everything you mentioned. They have more lax requirements, essentially anyone who's in education in the household at all I think. But I think the license only covers while the person is in education.

Similar deals are available direct through the NHS (and police I think) if you work for either of those.

    Not so. From Software4students FAQ:

Will my software still belong to me when I leave school or college?

Yes, the license offered to you by Microsoft is a perpetual license and does not expire when you cease to be a student. You can still use the products after you graduate or leave college.
