Zone Alarm Firewall Problem

Hi There
I'm having a strange problem with my firewall settings. My internet connection was down for the afternoon, after the usual modem reboot methods failed I phoned technical support (Virgin), after an hour of unplugging wireless routers and checking various connectionsettings I'm back on line, however, if I now have my Zone Alarm Internet Zone firewall set to high (as it was previously) on either my laptop or desktop I can't connect to the net.
Does anyone know why this would be the case? The first time I rebooted the desktop I received a warning message about IP addressses, which I was i'd not clicked past now as i'm sure it's probably relevant to the problem!
Any advice greatly appreciated

Me too, at least I know why now.
I just simply turned windows firewall on instead, Ive heard comodo firewall is good. I might give that a try.Old Faithful we roam the range together,

That's it! Uninstalled the hotfix and I can access the web again with the firewall set to high. Thanks very much for your help .
Sounds like this is something I should be mindful of in future? I only switched to Zone Alarm free in the past month after always using products bought off the shelf. I could have been spared and hour phone call to India if i'd known to check the firewall settings first. :wall:0 -
Been threads on this already http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1021875"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
