epson c66 ink light constantly on

We cannot print anything with our epson c66 as the ink light constantly on.All cartridges still have ink in them as I have removed them to check.The ink monitor doesn't show up and neither do the optioms to clean the heads or flush it.We have several documents pending but nothing will print.When we switch the printer on the ink carriage moves across a couple of times,the paper rollers begin to spin but then the ink light comes on stays on while the power light flashes.Can anyone help please as my daughter has school work she needs to print.

how old are the ink carts?they have a built in chip that stops them working after a certain whether they have ink in or not.0

I don't think they are all that old.They have probably been in the printer between a few months and a few weeks as they get individually changed.0
