Won.... but then lost - Sugar Mag

Boooo - the rubbishest day ever redundancies at boyfriends work, didnt get an intrview for job applied for, supposed to be camping in this crap weather at weekend- this afternoon was in a boring conference - missed call at 3.30pm from a London number in break. Thought might be a comp and they will call back. Got finished and back to office for 4.30pm - called the number - was Sugar Mag, (Been doing daily comp with them) explained situation, that I had a missed call and I may well be a competition winner. And they said as I hadnt awnsered they had picked a new winner ...... BOOOOOOO! It was a pair of Rocket Dog trainers too. I am cheesed off! :mad:

Hope one of you guys got them however if nothing else.

Wohooo - UPDATE - Emailed Sugar - they appologised and said it isnt soemthing they normally do, something to do with supplier. Anyway a nice goodie bag arrived this morning with make up , showever gel, nail varnish etc to say sorry. Estimate its all worth about thirty quid - bout the same as the trainers!

I was lucky with the laptop, the email must have gone in junk and they rang me :T

Ah you have not had a very good day at all!! think thats rubbish they gave the prize to someone else after one missed call!! I missed a withheld call this afternoon too so thats prob a prize out the window for me too, never knew they did that!!

That's rubbish!!! I'd email them to complain. What's the point in running a comp if you don't give people a chance to collect if they win? [EMAIL="info@sugarscape.com"]info@sugarscape.com[/EMAIL] - they answer these pretty quickly now. Sorry about that emma . Hope you win something big and pretty to make up for it!!

That's terrible, I bet it doesn't say in the T&C's that you have to answer the phone straight away, you could be in the loo or something.

I would definitely complain about it, you obviously won, I can't believe how mean they were. If you get no joy with the mag I'd contact the Rocket Dog company and explain the problem.

Hope the weather picks up at the weekend for you :T

oh hun...that's terrible! i would definitely write to them.
check the t&c before though to see if they are allowed to do that. sometimes it does say... 'if the winner does not answer the call on the 6th time of them calling they will choose another winner...bla bla' but to select another winner after calling once is out of order even if they covered it in t&c! i would understand if the prize was tickets to a show that night, but for a pair of shoes!?!

btw, i enter the daily sugarmag comp every now and then and never disclose my tel number! they only ask for name and email...the rest is optional. so wouldn't they email the winners first?
