Too expensive to put chimney breast back in?

I'd like to look into getting a log burning stove. The previous owners have removed the chimney breasts to loft level (the chimney stack is still in place as it is shared with next door). Would it be v. expensive to put the chimney breasts back in so I can get a log burning stove put in?
(Iwant a real fire - not a pretend one!! ).
Any advice appreciated!

To build a fake one wouldn't be too expensive. But to build a working one would probably mean having to undo a lot of the work that was done to remove the breasts. I..e previously they probably rearranged the joists after the breast was removed. I don't know for sure but I would say you would looking at at least £2000......

You can build a flue outside the house for a log burner. It's not cheap as you'll need a flue suitable for outside but it would be easier and cheaper than trying to put back what was there and then lining it appropriately!
There's also a heat resistant building block kit available from a German company that I've seen at the Homebuilding & Renovating show.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
