Whats the cheapest roaming 3G data card?

I'm looking for a way to stay connected to the net no matter where in europe I am.

Ideally some kind of Mobile Broadband card like the 3G dongles in the UK, but without the insane cost!

I'm going to the canary islands, and Vodafone have told me if i use the dongle there I will be charged.... £10.20 per MEG.

That means for the 3 Gigs I pay £20 for in the UK, the would bill me.... wait for it..... £30,000 for the same 3000 megs.

And the have done that to customers quite happily. The Canary Island is not part of Spain so doesnt qualify for their "euro passport which is £5 for the first 15 megs then £10.20 for everyone after that" even that is a rip off.

I've found this

http://www.unitedmobile.co.uk which offers Data roaming for 0.99 euros per Meg, which while still expensive (10 mins on ebay would rack up a tenner easily) is the best I've found so far.

Does anyone know of a better one?

this will always be a problem. Even if you get a cheap tariff here it will always cost you a bomb abroad. I would say you have no real way of getting a cheap roaming tariff as a residental customer. We use vodafone data cards for our travelling salesmen and I know vodafone do a tariff on business which gives them 250MB abroad for £25.

As you can see from this :-

Its not cheap with anyone. Better to simply find a cheap internet cafe. If you really need it you may need to persuade your provider to give you a roaming tariff for data.
