Hi is possible to hire a car in France with a visa debit card , i have hears some hyper supermarket stores over there can hire small cars out thanks Paul

I had the same problem. What I did was go to a small, independent car hire company and there was no problem at all. I just paid over the telephone pn my partner's credit card and when I arrived to collect the car all they did was take my details from my driving license. None of the bigger companies will entertain you without a credit card in your own name.
The bigger supermarket stores do rent cars - Super U is the name of one, but haven't used them myself.
