Is there any way of getting it off, without smashing the thing up i've had it for about a week and my mate tells me there is some tracking software on here and he can see everything that i have done. Is there anyway of turning it off i don't even know what it is called?

Can you give any more details?

Not immediately clear what you're on about...

probably called realVNC or something VNC. Click start > control Panel > Add Remove Programs > and uninstalled whatever has VNC in it.

If this inst it only other thing I can think he is talking about is a trojan. Can you take a screen shot of all your icons next to your clock in the bottom right and post it here so we can see ?

Also can you take a screenshot of the following.

Press Control + Alt + Delete continuasly. When you get the task manager appear, click processes. Enlarge it so we can see all processes running adn take a screenshot of that fdor us please.

No point in taking screenshots if it's malicious, it won't show up as a process.

Install Hijackthis, run it and copy the log into the thread and we'll take a look at it..

True but just wanted to see if there was a VNC running.

Add a firewall and block it as it tries to send out data or if you have a firewall alraedy installed reset it as he may of allowed it to send out data. Also Follow the Spyware sticky as it may be some sort of backdoor.

I'm confused about what your friend's said. Is he intentionally tracking what you're doing? If so, why?

I wouldn't be happy about using a PC if I knew they were spying on me. At the same time I wouldn't let anyone do anything dodgy with my PC.

Regardless of the method of tracking (unless it's logging at the router, in which case there's not really a way around it), using a live bootable linux cd will get around the logging.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

    Download, Install and Run CCleaner

Be careful not to Install the Yahoo Toolbar, as you don't need it.

Once you have the CCleaner interface open, click on the Options button on the left hand side and then choose Advanced and then remove the tick from Only Delete Files In Windows Temp Folders Older Than 48 Hours.

Once you have done that, Click the Cleaner button on the left hand side, choose Analyze, wait until the analysis is complete and then Run Cleaner.

    All done.
