Kitchen cupboard paint reccomendations?

Hi I would like to paint our dated Kitchen cupboard doors - can anyone reccomend a decent paint that is easy to apply and tough?
Should I use a multi surface primer and roller or brush? Leave doors and mask or remove completely?
Also does anyone know of any companies that make replacement doors at a good price and with good service?
Thanks in advance

I did mine last year with crown cupboard makeover paint. I gave them a light sanding then a good wash down before painting with 3 thin coats on a gloss roller. They've been fine and still look almost new.:D I took them off completly and did them outside.
I have another cupboard in the living room that I did with primer and satinwood and that's chipped a bit.:mad:0 -
I did all of my cupboard doors last year with Plasti-Kote cupboard colours spray paint, it gives a fantastic finish, no chipping, and no brush stroke marks. Everyone who has seen my kitchen can't believe that it isn't the factory finish.
That said it takes patience, enough space to allow you to spray without inhaling too many fumes, but not somewhere where the breeze can blow dust over the newly painted surface. It's also quite expensive as 1 can only covered 2 standard sized doors (2-3 coats)
My Mum did her doors at the same time, she went the primer and satinwood route, and 1 year on hers have chipped and scratched, and she is now looking to start again.0 -
Hiya
Ive just done this last week as my kitchen was looking dated lol, to be honest i mixed my own colour using gloss paint, cleaned the doors first then applied paint with a gloss roller, brush round the edges and in crevices though, and it has turned out fantastic even though i say it myself, ive finished them off with a couple of coats of clear varnish though which seals them and should stop the paint wearing and chipping.
cost: nothing! i mixed the paint with white gloss and a colour i had at the back of my shed!! lol well........worked for me, good luck with yours
kind regards

Hey, I got Crown gloss paint and a smooth roller for gloss (the foamy ones) and it did a brilliant job. The only preparation I did was to sand down the doors lightly, brush off the dust and then paint them.
The colour and paint has now lasted for three years and has no marks of wear or tear anywhere.
Hope this helps.
