I have just received a letter today from eon saying that the type of metering at my home isn't supported by my current "Extra saver 5 plan" deal with them & from 10th june I have been moved onto a standard deal

Has anyone else received a letter like this? I'm not sure if they are just trying to pull a fast one here?

I have also noticed that the letter is only dated with the month June 2008, every other letter I have from them has a date & month on them, mmmm

Slightly obvious question but what type of meters do you have at your home?

I got the exact same letter, dated june 2008, changes take effect from 10th june - how you get away with sending this letter in July for changes in June. I'll be phoning them, I have a standard Economy 7 meter - nothing special.

I received the same letter. It appears this is due to the fact that some regions have meters that give 7 hours off-peak and others 8 hours. After several phone calls and a lot of confusion, it has been confirmed that I will remain on the electricity online extra saver V5 tariff. Have emailed to ask for confirmation in writing.

Exactly the same issue for me too - got the letter yesterday. I think I have an Economy 9 meter - shame they didn't tell me it was an issue at the time!

Can I get back on the right tariff? the standard one is no good.
  • I asked for a letter in writing confirming my tariff was the same but never received it.

I now note from my September bill that the tariff they have used is the one from the letter, which they admitted was a mistake and should be ignored.

Now having got the letter about the 22nd august increase, the letter shows a different tariff also to that on my online account and what they have billed from 22nd to september bill being issued.

    Anyone else with similar issues?
