Working out boiler output

I'm looking to replace my tired old boiler with a brand spanking new one but I'm getting confused over the size/output I need. From various different calculators I have deduced I need a 60,000 BTU boiler but does this sound right? I'm worried I've messed up the conversions somewhere. My property is a solid walled 3 bed semi, with 8 radiators (3 up, 5 down) and is about 950 sq ft of floor space..
Can someone confirm if I'm even in the right ballpark?
Also can someone recommend a decent manufacterer of boiler please as there are so many on the market I wouldn't know what to avoid and I really don't want to end up with something I'll regret buying.
