I'm off to Australia for my hols, what would be the best credit card to take with me ? I'll most probably want to pay with the card & also take money out of the hole in the wall. Any suggestions ? 8)

Nationwides credit card as they don't load the rate of exchange with a 2.75% fee like the other cards do. But in saying that before I got mine I've always found the conversion rate on credit card transactions to be better than those for exchanging cash.0

We've been pleased with the Nationwide cards, credit card for normal purchases and debit to get cash from ATMs.
Best rates of exchange and no commission (plus cash back) on credit card.
Not tried in Oz but just back from US and found the rates (varied from day to day with the market) were all better than the best rate we could get in UK before we left.
Enjoy your holiday.Nice to save.0 -
If u can't get the Nationwide card, go for the Liverpool Victoria or the Lombard Direct cards respectively. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Do note that u pay interest on cash withdrawal regardless of whether you pay the whole of the monthly statement balance or not.
So think about whether you are going to use it to withdraw large amounts of cash and how long you intend to take to pay the balance.
If u intend to spread the payments, take the card with the lowest interest rate.
Personally, I use the CC for purchases(and pay the full statement balance each month) and the Debit card for cash withdrawals. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
