What should i do?

Not sure what I should do about cancelling a flight. my daughter was asked to go on holiday with her friend's family they had already booked their flights. I managed to get my daughter on the same flight and paid for it on CC. The agent added my daughter on to the other family's travel itinerary so she would not be classed as flying solo. My daughter no longer wishes to go I am unsure if we can get any money back on the flight. On the travel itinerary it is classed as a chater flight booked via thomas cook airline Monarch. Do i have to inform them that she will not be flying if there is no chnace of her getting her money back, as I hate the thought of them being to re sell her seat and making more money. Date of travel should have been 18 August

I think you can request the taxes back on cancellation but I doubt you'll the ticket price back. Check the airline terms and conditions, either on the ticket or on their website

Monarch operate both charter and what they call 'scheduled' flights. For the latter there are 100% charges from day one although you can sometimes change a name for a reasonable price. For charter flights, there is usually a sliding scale and it may only be at 50% at present but it will almost certainly go up when you reach 28 days before departure, so cancel as soon as you can, Thomas Cooks will tell you what the cancellation charge is, and indeed I fear they may charge you for cancelling the flight as well but do it immediately.
