Thats the idea were looking at. Now if only the letting agent will pick up the phone!!0 -
Go and see them and tell them they aren't providing the service you would expect. If they don't pick up the phone in future, you're going to take your custom elsewhere!

yes it makes you think what they would be like if you needed their services in an emergency?!0

it seems the house we were chasing had people moving in today (or it certainly seemed that way)
Seen a bungalow (2 bed) in nice area, but a bit more money £725.
Also noticed it also had a For Sale sign as well, but with another Agent.
What do you guys think of that? Could that be a problem? What should I watch out for here?
Thanks

house next door to my fella's flat always goes up for sale and rent at the same time - i guess the owners would prefer to sell but can't afford to leave it empty for too long - if you think its the sort of place you would buy in the future it could be worth renting it as you know it's open to being sold.
I would ask if it is up for short or long term let due to seeing the sale board though.0 -

Shame you lost out of the house.. still, I bet a nicer one turns up meanwhile.
A house around the corner from me (can see it from our bedroom window) was let for the past year, had a for Sale board up and a To Let sign... just noticed yesterday it now has a Let By sign up but the For Sale board is still up so think its quite common. But be careful as they may still market it whilst having tenants in and expect you to assist them with viewings etc.
Good luck with your search!0 -
cheers guys the viewing with the bungalow went ok. Though we think its probably a bit small for us. No dedicated dining area (Lounge is too small to be a lounge/diner)
Also being 2 bedrooms, means if one becomes and office then if we have a little one in the next 2 years then we wouldnt have a dedicated nursery.
Apparently the owner has recently done it up, and to be honest it looks really nice, and probably ideal for a couple not planning on kids.
Just saw a 3 bed house put up for rent round the corner from us...viewing is this saturday... wish us luck!0 -
Hi mickym
Why do you want to pay £650 / month of someone elses mortgage? Put up with you parents for a bit longer (they can't be that bad) and save that £650 / month for your own property. With prices dropping now that is going to buy you a lot more house in the future!0 -

The fact is that we have been doing this for ages. Admittedly we should have saved a lot more in the time we have been at home, but cant complain as we had great experiences with holidays etc. (Please note, were no flash harrys,,, i drive a modest car and dont fork out loads for luxuries).
I think we will move once we see the 'right' place for us.... in the mean time we will be saving as much as possible in the meantime whilst still at home.
In our early thirties as you can imagine we are just simply running out of space at home and also eager to not put our lives and prospect of a new family on hold forever.
As for paying someone elses mortgage.... well i used to think like that, but then after carefully listening to many arguments i decided that you have to pay for somewhere to live.0
