Asda Insurance Call Centre

Was trying to get through to the call centre the other day,and kept getting a message saying how busy they were and to call back later.
I duly called back 10 minutes later and to my amazment got a real person-And she read out the words from a script"Due to a high increase in calls,can you call back later,We have no available operators" I asked her what she was doing then,and she told me to call back as she was not a customer servces agent.
Do they do it to wind you up,Has anybody else had the same thing happen because to me this is incompetence on the highest level.

On the contrary, the advisor would've had to be FSA trained to be able to help, and they'll probably have differently skilled operators so not everyone could handle customer services. It's more likely the situation was exactly as she said and they were no operators that were able to help you, or there was a system fault.0
