Travel Insurance Query

Hello all,
Am looking for a bit of advice over travel insurance. I'd planned to buy a family policy for a upcoming trip, but one of us will be flying in the same day as all of us are flying out. Would we be covered under the missed departure section if their flight was delayed? The policy docs I've looked at says you are covered if "public transport" is delayed but doesn't specify their definition of public transport. (wikipedia for instance includes scheduled flights in their definition)
Anyone with expert knowledge would be appreciated
Thanks

I suspect not, public transport in this case usually means bus, coach or taxi. This is a case where you need to talk to the insurer or broker and explain the circumstances before buying a policy that may not cover what you want0

Actually I think flights are public transport, any member of the public can buy a ticket and get on so it's not really that different from a bus. In fact since flights are generally prebooked it is more likely to be covered than, say, hopping on the train from the city to the airport.
My insurance policy specifically mentions ' scheduled public tranpsort services, including booked connecting flights'. A bigger concern would be that everyone satisfies the 'family' condition of your policy if there is one, and that everyone is normally resident in UK if required. Is the person flying back from one holiday/trip and out again with you or are they simply flying from another part of the UK so you can all travel from the same airport?0 -

It's the second option. My step daughter is coming back from a holiday with her dad and straight on with ours.
Who is your policy with if you don't mind me asking?0
