Post bankruptcy questions & other

I've received bumf from the OR's office. I've to send back 1yrs worth of bank statements & CC statements. No problem there but the envelop they sent me is a bog standard business size A10. Mean so and so's - how the hell am I supposed to fit it all in that!!??? They haven't even sent me an address!
Any way, question one) Is it best to photocopy some of the (how shall I put it?) more interesting statements, in case they ask me about them in the telephone interview?
Question two) Is it best to send them by recorded delivery?
Question three) Do you get them all back eventually?
Thank you.
Final question. I can see that some people struggle for years trying to cope with their debts and no doubt we have all had to cut back and scrimp and save etc.
I was really just wondering, post bankruptcy when the pressure is off or at least lessened, do you end up sticking to your pre bankruptcy ways or does your spending revert back to pre-debt ways?
E.G I went to the supermarket on Monday and came back with the same cheapest range of stuff that I have been buying over the last few months - even though I probably could have bought I slightly more expensive brand.
I'm not being nosey and don't wish to offend - was literally just wondering.

Hi Debs,
Its funny what you say about spending. Im not sure if its that i dont believe i am Br or just scared that i might get myself into a mess again but i am the same. Even when in a supermarket i am still very careful and i still only but something if i really need it.
I was thinking the other day that in a way its strange that for 6 years most company's wont touch you as when you think about people like us are most likely the most careful with money post BR that you will ever meet.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

I'm not sure about after BR, as I won't be until the 13th August, but already I go shopping buying the own brands as I did before but with more 'fear' this time lol, I'm worried about spending too much and the OR grilling me over it!! :rotfl:
Maybe I'm just paranoid?
To answer your questions though, this is what I would do:- Photocopy, photocopy, photocopy!! lol Make notes too before hand if you can... I know I will be! Not because I've done anything dodgy, but just for ease and piece of mind that I'm organised!
- I would definatley used recorded delivery, you can't risk something important going missing.
- Honestly don't know if you will get them back, as I am not at that point yet, but I would assume so. Though it may be best not to assume anything in this process to be on the safe side!
Hope this helps a little though.

I've copied everything DebS. Am sure there will be still be stuff I can't explain, but having the statements in front of me might jog some memories. Also, if they do lose your stuff you may need those copies in the future. As to stuffing mountains of paper into molehill-sized envelopes, Billy's technique is to roll the paper - lengthwise - and slide it into the envelope, so when it unfurls it sort of springs into the right shape. Re posting, I was so worried about our documents getting lost that I delivered them by hand. A little paranoid, perhaps, but it made me feel better. Good luck.

Copy everthing or if you bank online download your statements again. I had copies of everything, just so that I could refer back to them if I was asked a question. Yes, send recorded delivery.
As for your question about pressure. In my case, the pressure was off me as soon as I went BR. There was a big build up to going BR (worry and stress) and then I walked out of the BR court thinking "Is that it then". It's a strange feeling, that I can't describe.
Yes it is tough after BR, as old habbits die hard but I think it comes down to conditioning your mind, that you don't have cards or overdrafts to fall back on.
Do I feel better and healthier now................oh yeh
Hey just seen you are BR 4/7 so you know what the court bit is like0 -
Get yourself over to the Old style boards, there some great hints and tips on cutting back and saving money on household expenditure.
Personally im seeing my BC as a fresh start and Im starting as I mean to go on, so going to be very thrifty from now on (hope it lasts)."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Thank you folks.
The bumf that the OR sent me to sign and the stuff I've got to send back will have to go on Tuesday - I'm "broker" this week than I was before I went bankrupt!!LOL:rolleyes: There doesn't appear to be any great big notice telling me to send it immediately.
I'm glad I'm not the only one still buying own brand stuff. I've been hampered by only having sainsbury to shop at. That though, will be changing - Aldi are opening a store literally right opposite the Sainsbury store. I'm as pleased as punch - but I don't suppose Sainsbury was!;) :rotfl:Deb Bankrupt 04/07/08 12.15pm

What happens if you can't supply all the statements the OR wants?
Until recently I've had a don't open-shred-bin policy - out of sight out of mind!0 -

Send what you have with a note explaining.
