Amazon hassle free return.

Bought a microwave last october which has just developed a fault. I was dreading trying to sort it, as I've had problems before with internet retailers trying to pass the buck to the manufacturer.
I got through on the phone helpline (free 0800 number) explained the problem, and was immediately offered either a replacement or a refund. I opted for the refund, which was in my account the next day, and Amazon arranged a courier to pick up the microwave, so I don't even have to pay/make the effort to return it.
Well impressed and extremely surprised.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I agree, Amazon are excellent in this respect.
I once had a problem with an electric shaver 10 months after purchasing from them. 'Phoned the freephone number and a replacement was sent immediately, no questions asked, no arguments, no third degree! I was also offered the option of refund but as the item was still stocked and I needed a shave :p then the replacement was chosen.
The new shaver arrived before collection of the defective unit, yes they arranged collection too - no return postage or inconvenience. 10/10
  • I will also add a vote for Amazon who handled my replacement excellently. I had the replacement the next day even before I had a chance to post the old product back to them. Brilliant service!
Why do I always find men so hard?
  • I've always found Amazon to be excellent too!
It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
