carers allowance and studying

I have signed up to do my HNC in Social Care. part-time I work 5 hours per week and recieve carers allowance. I would rather do the course full time which would be 21 hours a week. There seems to be conflicting advice about full time and carers allowance as full time is classed as 35 hours by the DWP. When I phoned to ask about going fulltime they told me I could'nt as I'd loose my allowance but I have discovered that another classmate is in the same position as me but she is full-time and still receiving Carers allowance any help on this matter would be great.

You must not be a full-time student

If you study for 21 hours or more a week, you won't qualify for the Carer's Allowance. You cannot claim during any temporary absence from the course or during the holidays.

If you study less than 21 hours a week you can get the Carer's Allowance. Only time spent in "supervised" study counts towards the 21 hours. Breaks and private study are not counted. Homework and revisions may count as supervised study.
