I am half way through a non payment dispute against a buyer. The dispute was opened on the 03/07/2008.There has been no response by the buyer to the dispute but a couple of days ago a note appeared stating "no longer registered". Two questions really
1. Am i right in saying that on 10/07 I can close dispute as that would have been 7 days since the start of the dispute. If so how do i do this please?
2. Is it possible that the buyer is no longer registered due to my dispute? I hope so!!
Thanking you all in advance for any help offered

If the buyer is no longer registered you should be able to close it before the 7 days are up.
If the dispute hasn't been closed then you weren't responsible for them not being registered, but you eill be helping keeping them off!
Nice to see the system is working and what happens when disputes are opened..0 -
It is encouraging that according to some recent threads on here ebay are actually suspending non paying bidders as they promised. All we have to do now is to persuade all sellers to go through the full dispute on each and every NPB regardless of what excuse they come up with.
Heskpesk, if the buyer was registered when you opened your dispute then you have to wait until day 8 to close it. if the buyer was already suspended when you opened the dispute then it should show as eligible for closure straight away.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The NPB dispute would have to have been closed and a strike given first.
Then for the NPB strikes to be accumulated and for the Buyer to be suspended.
So no it wouldn't be the fact that you opened a dispute that got the Bidder suspended
Non-Paying Bidders should be suspended, that is a fact and I have no problem with that.
However, some spiteful Sellers whom have to refund due to non-delivery of the item, or non-posting out in the first place then have the audacity to open a NPB dispute even though it wasn't the Buyer's fault.
So the fact that a NPB dispute has been opened should not be taken as a black mark against the Bidder - only the NPB strike when it is actually given.

This has nothing to do with spiteful buyers. There are two reasons this happens, the main one being the revenue generating system that feebay is. If for some reason the sale cannot go through, this could be a multitude of things, but as an example, we'll use that the item got broken and cannot be replaced.
There should be a simple system where by the selling can claim his FVF fees, if the sale is not complete, ebay should not hang on to the FVF fees, they already have the listing fees. This shouldn't involve the buyer, it should just be an automatic credit. But feebay being the greedy company that it is, they like to hang on to everything.
The second reason is the spiteful buyer who tries to block the seller from getting their FVF fees back. Now whatever your view of the seller, if sellers go for a mutual which is non strike and the buyer refuses to play ball what do you think they will do in the future? Yep, pretty much every seller goes down the UPI with a strike route because the buyer doesn't get to interfere in the process. This is very unfair on the buyers that have done nothing wrong but at the end of the day FVF fees mount up to some serious money for big sellers.0 -
Dispute has ended with still no reply and buyer has received a strike- not sure if tht matters though as no longer registered as mentioned0

Means he is even less likely of getting his account open again, which sounds like it is a good thing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
