I have a laptop and live in an apartment the walls are very thick and i find that wireless isnt that good. Due to the nature of the apartment i dont fancy a wired network either due to the layout of the place wires would be difficult to conceal or avoid tripping over. So im considering a homeplug adapter
For now i just want to be able to move the laptop around as i please ; in the future i might want to add a printer or pc to this network
I have looked at several homeplug adapters, which simply plug into your mains electricity, but would like a recommendation before i make a purchase .

I have a set of these and couldnt reccomend highly enough
1 is plugged into mains nr router with ethernet cable to router.
2nd is plugged in conservatory and plugged into ethernet port of desktop pc.
Very simple to install and no loss of speed performance
The ne I use is the most basic and I believe that there are more advanced ones that also have USB ports built in

I have the Solwise version. 5 units altogether for the various computers (wife wouldn't let me run Cat 5) and not had any problems. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Remember that portability isn't exactly great with the standard homeplug as you still need to run a network lead to the nearest electrical socket.
However, you can get wireless homeplugs now - which will let you move around a room without leads. An option if you don't have telephone sockets across the apartment.
