LG Plasma DEAD Warrenty advise please

Hi,
Can any one offer any advise on dealing with LG, I have a plasma tv just over 2 years old and the screen has just gone dead after a loud bang, I'm going to be contactng LG directly but I know they are just going to say its outside it's 12 month warrenty, but i remember reading somewhere that all electrical goods should work for 6 years... Can anyone offer any advise, or links that i can use for ammo when i call them

first thing, contact them for advise before going in with the big guns..

did you pay on a credit card.? any extended warranties free etc..

warranty dont mean a lot ,,, just say it was not fit for purpose ..they have an oblication to buiuld something tht lasts a decent amount of time,, if used correctly:) ps tell them u never left it on stand by but put ti off every night
