My Mitre Block has broke.

I went out to my local DIY store and bought a plastic mitre block, so that I can saw 45 degree corners on skirting board I am putting in my photo studio. Well, after a few god old grunts with my trusty B&D Scorpion saw, the darn thing broke in two, as part of it cracked and fell off. Now this mitre block has set me back by £4, and that included a 20% dicount for all the flooding we had last year.

I am at a loss what to do, as I need it to finish off my studio, so any help would be appreciated.

So you used a power saw to cut through a £4 bit of plastic?

Go and buy another mitre and use a hand saw.
When you saw through the wood, stop sawing.

Or use a circular saw with an angle adjustment.

Also get on with the job a bit faster. Last year is over 6 months ago!

On second thoughts, don't go near a circular saw.

Ring them up, refuse to pay postage to return and tell them to come and pick it up. When they (quite rightfully) refuse, tell them you are going to sue and then come and rant about it on here for several months.

On a more serious note, whilst I know nothing about these thingymajiggys, I would return to the store for a replacement on the grounds that it is not fit for purpose (so asserting your rights under SOGA) x

Nope the only thing I chopped through would be my finger. Any way thanks to DMG, just be back to the shop and I now have a brand spanking new mitre board and I can carry on chopping to my hearts content.

No probs, I just took a ten minute hike and had a pint of Old Spot on the way home as well! Now, who would want to rant on for six months or more DMG!

BTW, a mitre block is a guide that is used so I can saw accurately and keep good lady Freda amused.:beer: :beer: :beer:

What dmg said, right up to being serious.

Clearly you are entitled to sue them for failing to fit your skirting board, take and develop your photos for you and leaving chocolates in trolleys outside of supermarkets...

I'll sue them too, my remote's batteries have gone flat, the weather has been poor lately and my telephone bill is £2 more than I expected.

You could always knock up a DIY version out of some spare wood using a mitre block to cut the angles...........arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:rotfl: :rotfl:
