Am I paying too much?

Hi
Can I have some thoughts on my life insurance and if you think what I am paying is too much.
My husband and I are both 36 he smoke and I don't. I pay £161 per month in life insurance. Is this about right? Should one of us die whilst we have a mortgage then it gets paid off.
How do i go about changing this? Will I need to give evidence to the Bank for the change?
Sorry its all new to me!
Thanks very much
