Hi there,
A friend of my family has just rang with a bit of trouble, the situation is this.
She has a bank account with Lloyds along with a credit card.
The bank account has a £700 overdraft, and the only income that she gets is an £850 a month payment from her ex-husband as part of her divorce settlement.
The Lloyds credit card is upto its limit of £10,000. She hasn't paid this for a few months as she is in a bit of financial trouble at the moment (£850 a month doesn't go far in London).
Today she has found out that there has been a £400 payment taken out of her account to pay her credit card.
Can they do this without her authorisation?
Thanks.

Yes, they can do this. It's part of card's terms & conditions. She agreed to it when she signed credit card application.0

Has she tried Social Services? Surely she must be able to get some help?
www.entitledto.com will give her an idea about what she might be able to claim.0
