and for those girls who hate pink - theres not a lot available that doesn't have pink on it anywhere. My just turned 13 is in adult sizes but that means either stuff that I would wear (too old for her) or tarty stuff (also unsuitable). And I can't choose anything or its wrong. Its a nightmare.0

I agree, i have an 11year old son who is in around size 13-15year olds clothes, our local supermarket is ASDA, we have the same problem that there is nothing in there store for him, Tescos do, do kids clothes up to either 15 or 16, i know that they fit him as i bought him some tops last week.
Shoe sizes are the same, were in JJB 3 weeks ago when they informed me that their kids shoes finish at size 5, my sons already in a size 7, the government should do some sort of scheme to be able to claim the tax back. Well if they can give their mps £24,000 for their second homes they could give up parents the tax back for our kids clothes.
On a plus side i'm only a size 5 so when i buy trainers i get the ones in the kiddies section(unfortunatley i only buy a pair about once every two years).0 -
Children's shoes stop at a size 3 or 4 I believe, not a 6. My DD is only 10 but already in 4 1/2 shoes and we pay VAT on those.
DS was in a size 8 before his 11th birthday so we had similar problems.0 -
This is a thread close to my heart!!
I have had probelms like this for some years, my daughter is 11, but in clothes size 13-14, so nothing at asda at all, when i asked they said the G21 range was ok for teenagers, er,NO,not ones ages 11,12,13, maybe 18,19, but thats it.
Very annoying,
Again, my daughter likes girlie clothes, but she either has to dress like a tart, or a boy.
And her feet are size 6,7 so she needs adult shoes.

Think it might be 6, as I've bought children's size 5 trainers which are exactly the same as the adults, but about £40 cheaper! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
This has been going on for years, I had the same problem about 4 years ago, DS is 16 now but has had to use adult clothes since he was 12 because he has always been really tall for his age - unfortunately he is also very skinny. Now I find most stores do not stock size 28 waist !!
And I thought the clothes thing might get better as he got older ......................0 -
Same boat as you guys, my sons school trousers have to be bought from the adult section due to his waist size but the legs are always too long, costs me the same price again to get them altered (i'm not very good with a sewing needle)
I do agree with the shoe size thing though, I am a size 5 and in sports stores I shop in the kids section. JJB for example have a kids section that runs to a 5 and a half. No vat!0 -
might be just in trainers then because things like summer sandals are impossible to find in kids sizes.
Crocs kids sizes stop at a size 3 as well. Her caymens shot up from £19.99 to £29.99 this year.0 -

My son is skinny so an opposite if similar problem. I have noticed both ASDA and Tesco do boys school trouser with adjustable waists. Of course if you want choice you need to buy in July when they bring out the back to school ranges. Most will be sold by September and we all only ever need to buy school clothes once a year as our kids never grow at any other time :mad:0
