Not a problem thrifty - I knew most of them but the curry is a new one for me, will have to try it one day

Besan should bring up more range of hits if you google that.

I've borrowed a book from the library called World Vegetarian Classic by Celia Brookes Brown. The section on the Indian subcontinent has loads of recipes using gram flour -mostly involving deep frying, but yummy sounding.
