Amazon price drop promise?

Sorry if this is completely the wrong place for this question.
If you buy something from Amazon and they drop the price soon afterwards, is there not a way you can claim back the difference? I can't find the info I'm looking for anywhere

Hello Eugene's Pal, I recall seeing the article about Amazon price promise on MSE before, and being told to use Amazon's 'Return and Refunds Contact Form', however after intensive searching of Amazon I cannot find any trace of this form, nor can I find anything on Amazon web-site relating to their price promise. Did you have any luck in claiming back the difference on your order.
Thanks

I pre-ordered a game and when they delivered it they sent an email telling me they refunded the difference back to me. I did not even ask.0

There is a link in post 2 (in blue).
But this is the relevant bit:
"If the price drops claim the cash back. If the price you've paid is lowered within 30 days of purchase you can be credited with the difference, although Amazon won't do it automatically, you have to ask for it, so it's always worth keeping an eye out.
Simply visit your account and look at each invoice from the last thirty days and click on each item to view its current price. Compare this to the price you paid and if there's a difference, copy down the order number and go to the 'Return and Refunds Contact Form' page to report it."0 -
Thanks HC, I already checked out the link in post 2, but there is no link in that article by MSE Martin to the Amazon web-site where the 'Return and Refunds Contact Form' page can be located. Perhaps I am being dense but I could not see anywhere to claim back the difference on Amazon web-site. Does anyone have a link to the exact page where the claim can be made? Thanks

I never found one either but this is how I do it:
I know it keeps referring to refund but please bear with me - that's why it's not easy to find.
- go to your orders, open order with item to be refunded (as per price
promise)
- click on returning an item (bottom of page)
- click on returns policy
- contact us
- express area, open order
- click item on order to be refunded
- contact Amazon on right hand side, open emails window
- there will be a form and under issue there is a listing of refund enquiry.
- in the box below explain why you require a refund and that should be
sorted.
hope this helps0 -
Thanks moneypooh. I followed your instructions and have sent them an email. Fingers crossed.0

Well done, moneypooh. I had a look but couldn't find it. It certainly used to be there, because I've used it in the past. They must have changed the site - probably to make it more difficult to find...0 -
Just though I would let you know I had an email from Amazon this morning, in response to my email yesterday about a refund, confirming they had refunded the £11.47 to my account. :j
Many thanks for your assistance moneypooh. :T
Could you post your response as a sticky (hope that is the correct terminology) to assist others, considering the procedure for a refund is not easy to find.0
