I think most people would like to be 'kept in the loop' with their employer, as to events, news, details etc. Even if they don't fully like where they work.

I like where I work, and I like to be kept in the loop. But not when I'm at home! I'm sure my employer wouldn't like it if I was dealing with my personal life and correspondance whilst at work?

Why not? My employer doesn't mind if I make the odd personal call, sort out my emails etc, so long as it's not too long.

I'd also love to know, how often to you get 'harassed' by post from work coming to your home?

Is it daily? How often are you off duty, so that this 'propoganda' is affecting your personal life? And why don't you just take it back to work and read it there? Do you do shift work?

However, if you like where you work, you really need to stop immediately sending the post back to them with or without stamps, and complaining to them, because they will get rid of you, and they will find a reason!

I know if I was your manager, and found out that you're sending post back without stamps, and incurring costs to the company, I'd now be watching you like a hawk, and if you are fiddling your timesheet, which it sounds like you are, have you up to personnel for it.

Now, don't come it with me about adding the time it takes you to open and send back the post from home. It doesn't wash with me, nor will it with your manager, nor an industrial tribunal.

Fiddling a timesheet is grounds for dismissal on misconduct. You may go through a couple of warnings, but some firms see it as theft, and as such gross misconduct and immediate dismissal!

So for you own sanity, stop making such an issue of something that is not important, otherwise you will find your problems suddenly a lot larger than this.

I even claim overtime for opening the stuff and walking to the postbox to send it back!

    Are they paying you this?
If so, I'd be asking for *more* junk, not less...being paid to open some post with brekkie and stroll to the shops sounds great to me...

i rfeally think this so-called harrassment should be put into proportion with some of the real worries people have these days, like, how to find enough money to pay bills? i really think this thread has to be a wind up

    Every other month or so.

No, it is not daily. I go off duty everyday. Because when the postperson comes I do not want to be reminded of work. I do not take it back to work because I would have to carry it there. Yes, I do shift work - I do not want to get up in the afternoon and find this rubbish on my doormat when I have a couple of hours to myself before I go to work.

Why should I stop? They won't stop sending it to me in the first place!

Why - you would then be even more petty than me!

I am not fiddling timesheets. We have to state the reason for claiming overtime. I do not lie. I state the reason. Then it has to be authorised. It is authorised. So no fiddling there, then.

This thread is so obviously a wind up, and I'm sorry but I can't go on, and I'm getting bored with it, the fun's over. No one in the world could be like this in real life, and even think they're right for one millisecond!

But it's been fun, thanks for the laugh surreysaver!
