Change from auction to buy it now

I've just had a request to change an item I have up on Ebay for auction to the buy it now format.
I have 6 watchers on the item at the moment although no bids and it finishes in a couple of days.
My initial reaction is to let it run as an auction but I'd be grateful for any input and to hear what folks think.
Also I have no idea how to go about changing anyway!!

It's really up to you if you want to change it - a factor that might bear on your decision might include the feedback of the buyer requesting a BIN. I generally would only add a BIN price if the price would be more than I was expecting for it.
Be careful though - you may well get more for the item if you let the auction run its course, as many if not most serious bidders bid in the last seconds.
If you do decide to add a BIN, try haggling with the buyer for a better price - remember, he/she must want it pretty badly! Talk about how so many people bid at the end, etc.
To add a BIN, view your item, then click on the link to revise it, then edit payment information (or some similar option, I can't remember what exactly it's called off the top of my head).
If you wanted my call (bearing in mind I don't know what the auction is for)...I'd say leave it running as it is.0 -
How much is the item worth? Check what it has sold for recently and come up with a BIN price accordingly I would suggest at the higher end. Also ensure you click the pay immediately button so they have to have a Paypal account. Helps stop any scammers.
If you are unsure of the value then probably best to let it run.0 -
If you've got six watchers on it I think you would be foolish to change it to a BIN for this person.
There's obviously a lot of interest in your item and if this guy really wants it then his bidding should ensure that you get a good price.
If you change it to a BIN and he then doesn't buy it (and no-one else does) then where does that leave you?
If you change it to a BIN and someone else buys it then you may have missed out on a better price as a result of a bidding war between these 2 people...
Personally I'd let the auction run it's course.0 -
Thank you for all your advice - I emailed the person and said I was letting it run as an auction as I had quite a few watchersand she was more than happy, said she'd have done the same herself, but no harm in asking eh? She also said she would be in the bidding process too. Good job I was aware of the value of the item though - I started it at £4.99 but it is at least a tenner, so I'll just see how the bidding goes. (I'd have happily taken her at £4.99 if no-one else was interested though).
Have now got 2 bids on the item and so I'm happy too!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0
