Transferring data between OE & Thunderbird

I installed TB and used one of my minor Yahoo accounts to test it out. Now that I've discovered how wonderful it is I want to install my main account instead BUT I also want to move the the minor account back to OE without losing data.

Any reliable methods of doing it without risking the data or messing up addressees & timestamps

No much knowledge in email clients but how can you do the opposite? i.e move OE emails and settings to thunderbird if this is possible.

If you have both OE and Thunderbird on the same machine try Tools -> Import in Thunderbird.

Would this also import the contacts in address book and the different folders and settings or is it only for the emails ? Also once you've done the import will OE still be functional. Forgive a novice for all these questions. :rolleyes:

Never had to do it ....

It should import the address book, settings and email. Just go to the Tools -> Import wizard to see what it does. It should do these as a read-only operation i.e. it won't update anything OE uses.

OE and Thunderbird can co-exist on the same box.
