Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can tell me can i pay a buy now pay later with argos with my cc. I am new to this credit card stuff and was wondering whether i should just pay my argos off using the cc if i can as i am on 0% until mar 09 and stand a better chance of getting rid of it without argos adding more to it with interest.
im not sure if i can do this or would i need to do a bt? Would it just look like i had purchased a load of stuff from argos to the cc company? but really i am just trying not to incur the interest from argos.

I assume you have already made a purchase (or purchases) on your Argos card on a Buy Now Pay Later deal and now want to transfer this to your 0% credit card to give you longer to pay it off without being stung for interest.
While you cannot "pay off" your Argos card using a credit card (I think there are some rules which state you cannot pay off credit using more credit), you are right in thinking that you should be able to Balance Transfer to the 0% card. There is normally a fee for this, anything between 2% and 3.5%, but this is still going to be a lot cheaper than paying any amount of interest on your Argos card which will probably have a huge APR.
If you have not already made the purchase on your Argos card, I'd just pay on the 0% card to start with (assuming that has the longer interest free period).
Obviously what you need to double check is that the credit card you want to transfer to or spend on is 0% for balance transfers, 0% for spending, or there are a few that are 0% for both.0 -
I seem to remember the Argos card has a 19-digit card number, so a standard BT to a 0% card is not possible.
The only way is to use a super balance transfer (SBT) card such as the Egg Card or an MBNA run card, which will pay money into your current account at 0% (albeit with a fee) from where you can settle the Argos card.0 -
Thanks everyone i thought that might be the case!0
