Single parent holidays

Hi
this is my first post

i am a single parent and finding it frustrating and hard to find discounts for single parent holidays, this year is a no no, but maybe weekend away blackpool or somewhere if i have any luck

what gets me is that many big companys advertise free kids places and when you go and try and book it is only if there are 2 paying adults so what i am finding is that my son is always getting charged for an adult and this is mostly with every site i am looking at, (misleading and false advertising)

if i could get somewhere very good value for us both i would try to get away this year but only UK as we dont have passports yet

if anyone has any knowledge of getting discounted breaks it would be very much appreciated.

regards
Dawb

You could try www.travelodge.co.uk Blackpool family rooms £29 and £39 per night wc 31 August for example. Next year you could look out for the rooms when they have their sale and rooms start from £9 then. Southend on sea has a lot of saver rooms for £29 and £39 during the summer holidays. click on saver rate orange link. You need to book each rooms seperate to get the saver rate.

Hello Dawb - Have you looked at Small Families (www.singleparent.travel) They specialise in holidays for single parents. I know that children under 12 years are not charged as adults and, as they travel as a group:beer: with a host, you also get the added advantage of other adult company and plenty of friends for your child.

About the 'weekend in Blackpool', I understand that they are expecting to introduce a few UK weekends later this year for the first time, don't know any details yet but I'm sure they'll be happy to give you some information. Good luck.

I know that keycamp do a hundred pound discount for single parent families
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.
  • As a single parent I also used to look for special deals in order to go on holiday cheaply. I can honestly say that they were the worst holidays I have ever had. My children always made friends which left me totally alone for most of the day and during the evening after dinner. When I go on holiday I expect to enjoy it which means that I don't want to be on my own. I can get plenty of that when I am at home. On holiday its lovely to have adult company and a good laugh. I now travel with a specialist Single Parent holiday company called Small Families and have been for a few years. I have been to Croatia, Portugal and Tunisia and can honestly say that they are the best holidays I have ever been on mainly because each group has been really good company and I have made some really good friends.
