Need help to sell on Ebay.

Hi Guys,
I need some help/advise to sell some items on ebay. I have never sold anything on there but have bought a few things from time to time.
My problem is that a friend left me about 33 cinema tickets to sell in his absence (gone abroad due to family bereavement) and I have no idea what to do.
I think he wanted about 3.00 GBP each for them at least.
My only hope is to sell them on Ebay but I need advise and help from my fellow MSE's to how I can do this and keep charges down.
If this thread goes against any MSE rules then please let me MOD's.
Thank you all in advance.
Spikey.
Ps. the date on these is 30th November 2004 - talk about left in the lurch... anything for friends though.

Hello, I would advise that you have an immediate payment required option, another mse'er got stung by a bidder who didn't pay and the tickets went out of date so he lost money!

I doubt they'll go for £3. It's not worth the hassle to save such a small amount on a cinema ticket, when you allow for payment charges and postage and so forth.
I think you should put them up as "buy it now" for £2 and hope you can shift them. And charge a fair amount for postage (like 30p) not some try-it-on because you'll not get bids.0 -

Off peak cinema tickets at my local Ster century cinema can go as low as £5 with BOGOF on certain days of the week, so do check prices before you list.
Look at completed prices for comparable cinema tickets, take into account whether those completed listings are for special viewings or central London cienmas which would push the price up. Also take into account that sellers with low or poor feedback will get lower prices and judge the best price for your tickets.
If they are all identical then the cheapest way to list them is as a dutch BIN. Set a realistic BIN price and a realistic post and packing price and see how they go. The good thing about Dutch BIN auctions is that people can buy as many or as few as they want, so you might get people buying multiples which will shift the tickets quickly.
However, you will be in competition with the 'free' cinema vouchers that people are selling from the toilet roll packs, some of those are going very cheaply, so do your research before you waste money listing them.
As you are selling for a friend I would also add the cuation that make sure he knows what you are doing price wise, people who don't use ebay get an inflated idea of what things are worth. If he wants £3 and you feel that unrealistic tell him otherwise you could end up out of pocket listing things that don't sell.
Good luck

Setting a Dutch auction with BIN is easy if you follow the on screen information when you list your items. You need to select 'fixed price' auction on the first page and go on from there. You will be asked to input your BIN price and also the quantity of items you wish to sell.
As is usual when listing you get confirmation of the listing price before you actually click to list.
The only thing is though I am assuming you have some feedback as there is a minimum feedback level required to set fixed price or dutch auctions.
If you don't meet the fixed price criteria your only option will be to list each ticket seperately (or in pairs) which will cost 20p per listing for items up to £4.99 or 15p for items of 99p or less.
The price you start at will of course be dependant on your search of similair completed auctions.
Good luck
