Flight to Thailand & 'Open Return' ticket to Japan?

Hi,

I'm wondering if you could help me out.

I'll be going to Thailand in August, around the 20th. After Thailand, I'm going to Japan. I will need a return flight to UK, however I don't know when I'll be coming back (if I have a problem, I might come back earlier, I might stay later if everything is good).

Because I will be working in Japan, I will need a visa. If I don't have a return flight to UK, I end up needing to have an extra £1000 in my bank account to get the visa as opposed to having a return ticket.

So, 2 things:

1 - Where is the cheapest website I can book a ticket from to Thailand from UK? I've seen some prices at around £450.

2 - Am I able to book a multileg flight, with an open return ticket? (UK -> Thailand -> Japan and open return ticket coming back to UK).

Any help appreciated
Thanks

Firstly, those 450 pound tickets tend to be for short durations. So a one year ticket price to Toyko will likely go through the roof.

Possibly a one way ticket to Thailand, coupled with a one year return to Tokyo is your best bet.

China Airlines, China Eastern or Vietnam Airlines are possibly the cheapest options for a one year ticket from Bkk.

If you are a student, you could qualify for a Student ticket with say, Singapore Airlines at around 400 pounds. Either way, you are not looking for much change from 1000 pounds.

    Maybe someone else knows different.
