Not sure if this is in the right bit, but here goes....
Me and my boyfriend are going to Paris in September....and just wondering if anyone could recommend any restaurants to go to....and which ones to avoid?
Thanks in advance

Depends what kind of food you're after and where you're staying? I can recommend a few but they might be inappropriate for your needs!0

couple right outside the gare du nord are ok0

Chartier has to be seen (details will be in your guide book), otherwise head to Place des Vosges or Ile Saint Louis where there are loads of great places to eat.0

Our hotel is called Abbatial Saint-Germain and is on boulevard Saint-Germain in the Latin Quarter...if that makes sense.
Not really too fussed about food, but if something sounds nice and the place looks nice we might be willing to give it a try.0 -
There's a lovely crepe place right next to the Pompidou Centre, does savoury and sweet and has every kind imaginable, and it's quite cheap.
I was going to recommend somewhere in Montmartre but you're staying nowhere near - however, if you go to the Sacre Couer (and you should, it's awesome and has fantastic views over Paris) there is a piano bar on the road walking down to the main square that does a 3 course meal for 10 Euros, there's always live music in there and it was full of locals last time I went.
Also, if you're a Sex and the City fan, go to the restaurant on the top of the Samaritaine (I think) department store, it's where Carrie had lunch with Aleksandr's ex-wife - although it's VERY expensive!
If you want any tips for Paris in general feel free to PM me, I've been about 15 times! St Germain is beautiful by the way.0 -
Thanks lilian, very helpful

I'll second Le Chartier - always been good value and plenty of atmosphere (even when full of American tourists)!I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are S0466/3973. I am off to Paris on Sunday, anyone been there on 14th July? Do I have any hope of getting into a restaurant Sunday/Monday without a reservation?0

If you are there for the 14th every local firestation - and there are loads of them - in Paris has a 'Bal de Pompiers' a fireman's ball..... Brilliant atmosphere, great french music and cheaper beer. You should go along just to experience something typically french even if you only stay for one!0
