Debenhams advice please regarding cancelled order

Hi I hope you can help

I ordered a few things on Sunday afternoon. I then realised after pressing confirm that it had my old delivery address on there (even though I changed my billing address). Anyway as soon as I pressed the confirm button & realised the mistake, I phoned customer services. The assistant said that he couldnt see the order, so he couldnt cancel it & for me to send an email (which I did) & then phone back today.

Well I've phoned back & have been told that I cant cancel as its too late & the person who its being delivered to needs to send it back & that I will be charged for the items. They then said that I can phone my bank to cancel my order. I have done this, but my bank told me that Debenhams can still debit the money & then I will have to try to fight for it back.

Ive had enough, so I cancelled both orders. Off course have been told that they cant be cancelled.
Im really fed up. What can I do?:(

Just remind them of the distance selling regulations which entitle you to cancel upto 7 days after you receive the goods. I would say you are well within that time limit.

Is there a website where it says this.
I feel that if I just say that to them they will then just reply with the its Debenhams policy or they just cant cancel it becuase of the computer systems.
