Tripp luggage?

Not sure if this is in the right section, needing to buy some new luggage. Want something that can take a battering and is going to last longer than the tesco rubbish we bought last time.
See Tripp Superlite on the net which seem reasonable (set for around £100), are these any good or can anyone recommend anything else around the same price?
Thanks

Hi, Tripp superlite cases are the business! They are indeed very light, and inside them there's a plastic wallet attached for documents and also a handy pool bag section where you can stick your wet towels and swimmers, after that last dip in the holiday pool.
I got mine a while ago, direct from their website - https://www.tripp.co.uk - and delivery was fast - and free! To maximise savings, go through topcashback too - my purchase tracked quickly. Happy travelling!0 -
I got a Tripp suitcase reduced from £100 to £59 in Debenhams last year, I am really pleased with it, although it is huge. It was standing next to an even bigger case in the store, which made it look quite compact. It wasn't until I got it home I realised how big the case was!
But it's really good quality and very light - for the size of it!0 -
Hi, I've just bought a Tripp suitcase from Debenhams, was £130 reduced to £49! I'm really pleased as it is soooo pretty. I just hope it doesn't take too much of a battering when I go on holiday in a few weeks!0

I remember hearing that they're not that robust but I can't remember where. Debenhams always seem to have them on sale and that says a lot to me ... are they really worth the full price or is that the only way they can shift them?
What you get depends on where you're planning to travel and whether weight is an issue. I used a cheap supermarket case on a transatlantic trip through Heathrow and the whole front of the case (and some of the contents) got damaged - big gaping hole in the case and the zip was ripped out. Since having to bin that case and borrow another to get my stuff home I invested in a couple of lightweight Antler cases. Cost around £75 each. They've managed to survive about 4 or 5 similar trips through Heathrow and being dragged around streets with only a few scuffs (although the zip is starting to go on the corner of one where it must rub against the edge of the conveyor belt).
I think you generally get what you pay for. My small Samsonite case that cost me £90 had only been on a few domestic flights before the feet on one side sheared from the fittings. Samsonite did repair the case free of charge under warranty and it's as good as new. See what warranty is offered and what it covers. I know some Antler cases are covered for 7 years.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
I bought 2 Tripp suitcases from Debenhams reduced in the sale 2 years ago. One was broken after one journey The side handle came completely away but the other one is still going strong. I think it all depends how much they are used and the way they are treated at airport to be honest.0

i think luggage should be given a lot of thought, getting a max sizes handluggage case 55x40x20 might be all you need and could save you a fortune in baggage costs.
if you have to have a hold case then i would look into wheeled holdhalls, light and take the knocks better, rigid cases soft or hard are prone to damage, i know 2 mid priced soft sided cases were a waste of money in my opinion, they both got damaged.
wheeled holdalls i think are in fashion, weight matters and i see plenty about0
