Hi all you people
I am in much need of tlc please. I never usually ask for sympathy but am in need of lots at the min.
Friday i found out that both my OH and myself will loose our new jobs this friday. We took a chance an because of the recession the company is cutting back,no orders ect. Agency go first. We had been struggling money wise but it was such a nice easy job after the last spell in slavery. Also had to see a specialist for a old health problem returning friday, looks like a few very unpleasent tests are to be done(not giving out TMI;) )involving a very long pipe:eek:
So today i spent writing letters to OH creditors to ask for suspension of payments/interest. I thought i was done with all that last nov:mad: .
Then filled in an application for a job for him on line, whilst he supped his pint of cider:mad:
Then i thought " i know i will check the EDREV letter sent back in april". Did not realise you could check it online until scaredwittless2 told me the other day. Well nothing showed on line so i rang royal mail and after a 20 min wait on hold. The very appologetic chap told me it had never been delivered, was a lost item and i could claim compensation if i wanted.  Boy the camel that broke the donkey's back or what:o .
Told OH who said"what the hell you blubbering for". When i snapped back that was my chance of ED gone. He said " i had a screw loose"
Well i dried m eyes enough to ring the IS and spoke to a lovely lady(in between sobs that is) who put me through to some chap who said they would send me a new IPOQ,luckily i have one in the house,he said great get it sent off then and i will speak to the ED clerk when she comes in tomorrow:j . So filled it in dragged OH down to the post office, made him pay the £5 for recorded delivery(which should get it there tomorrow morn)which he was not happy about. So now another 35 day wait:rolleyes: .At least i can stop checking the IS website for a while:p . Sorry for the rant but just in case anyone else gets that ed letter, better to be safe than sorry and pay to post it recorded delivery.
They say things come in 3's and we had a letter from the council fri,to say we had rent arrears. We pay on the friday before it's due on the monday. So after several calls friday and one this morn it appears a payment i made via my bank(cash transfer)on the 23rd april as gone awol.So had to print off copies of bank statements today and send them that so they can try and trace it.
Why does everything come at once. 2008 was supposed to be my year, looks like i will have to wait till 2009 now. Thanks for"listening" to my rant. Will return to my normal mode now.D

Ooooh Dalip...lots of <<<<HUGS>>>> Honey..
You spend so much time on the rest of us you deserve plenty of cyber `group hugs`!!:A :A
Sorry to hear about the jobs  but check out the benefits for unemployed...as well as other agencies. I know its difficult but no-one can predict these things happening.
Rent arrears - the bank can trace any payment. Try & find the receipt (if paid cash over counter at Bank) . Also make sure on your bank statement that it was`nt refunded back to your account a few days/weeks later.
ED !! keep telling yourself `IT WILL HAPPEN`!!! (eventually!!)
Nothing is ever straightforward ...now you`ve had a good cry I hope that your normal calmness will return.
Take care sweetie,

Thanks angel. I never thought to check to see if rent had been refunded ill do that now.I have sent bank statements off to prove we made the payment. In fact it was the very first one we made via the payment system that OH abbey account does,so that may well have a bearing on things, either our end but more likely their end.
As far as i know we only get JSA with the rent and CT paid, which is about the same as what we were earning anyway!
As i said we took the risk but i am still a lot better in myselfnow than i was 12 mths ago.

And things like OU/college courses - do something fun most are free on benefits. And check out your councils leisure facilities, ours have a "pass" that allows those on benefits entry for silly prices and its valid for a year (so get JSA today get the pass today, job tomorrow but the pass is still valid).
Plus perscriptions, so stock up. And eye tests/glasses etc so get that sorted out while you can too!0 -
Chitty day merry it started friday. I just gota buy a lotto ticket this wed now:D Thanks girl.
Angel just checked and no it was not refunded. In fact if it is their mistake(like i am 100% certain it is) we are actually £53 in credit:jFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Just ask the Bank to put a trace on the credit.
Also make sure that the council don`t have your payment sat on their `suspense` account . This is where payments may be received with missing/incorrect reference numbers and cannot be allocated to the rent account. The councils just have to wait until a tennant queries any missing payments...as you have done.
It is likely that the council has recvd the money & just not allocated it.
Hope this helps,
