Hello fellow MSE'ers Me and my dear wife would like to go to Oxford for a couple of days on our anniversary. We are hoping to book in somewhere for 21 & 22 Oct or 22 & 23 Oct. We prefer a hotel, but you folks may know better. Can anyone reccomend any places to stay in walking distance of the city. We will also need car…

I would encourage you to look outside of Oxford for accommodation. Oxford has a park and ride system that is widely used, is very good and is pretty cheap into the bargain too. Its far easier than driving round the place.

I have once been to Oxford with the intention of looking at the shops...didn't last long though, as it wasn't very good at all.
